Role: Mechanical Engineer

Description of type of work performed:

Senior Application Engineer will join a team of subject matter experts on all aspects of engineering industrial enclosures.   The successful candidate will be responsible for designing enclosures of varying complexity from standard metering to custom PLC-based control panels.  The engineer will work with project managers and engineers to design solutions based on project specifications and industrial codes and standards.

Duties and responsibilities:

·       Create preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis.

·       Create engineering drawings and designs for production and manufacturing.

·       Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists.

·       Estimate material and production costs for designs.

·       Prepare complete documentation packages for engineers.

·       Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations.

·       Developing technical reports for engineers

Skills:

·       Ability to operate computer-aided design (CAD) software. Specifically, Creo, AutoCAD.

·       Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time.

·       Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

·       Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from Project Managers and Engineers

·       Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe

·       Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports.

·       Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions.

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

Work Experience:

• 3 - 5 years’ experience in designing and preparing mechanical drawings,
