Job Overview:

Description

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for below activities.

Research, plan, and design in-house machinery as per the need of the organization. Direct and coordinate activities involved in fabrication, operation, applications, installations, and repair of these devices. Provide technical support to the production team, engineering group and maintenance department. Also implement global upgrades and capital projects supported by corporate.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties as assigned.)

  • Responsible for all KPI’s in the Engineering & Maintenance department.
  • Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
  • Developing project specifications with colleagues within department or plant and global engineering.
  • Developing, testing, and evaluating theoretical designs.
  • Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers, and customers.
  • Leading and implementing capital projects initiated by other departments and the global engineering team.
  • Support maintenance team during breakdown and trouble shooting.
  • Responsible for trouble shooting on extrusion, internal recycling and Flexnet machines.
  • Responsible for overseeing solar panel system.
  • Responsible for developing or researching safety related projects e.g., automation or AI on forklifts. 
  • Responsible for assigned activities on infrastructure and facility.
  • Adopt and follow LEAN processes.
  • Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Netafim’s strategic initiatives.
  • Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving.
  • Continually improve safety record by proactive reporting and leading by example.

Requirements

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

· In charge of engineering projects and facilitation of their execution.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS include the following.

· CAD/ solid work/ solid edge systems experience.

· 2-5 Years experience in manufacturing environment. 

· 5 years’ experience in management/leadership of projects.

· Proficiency in troubleshooting to components.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· BS degree – Mechanical Engineering (BSME)


LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Excellent verbal and written skills in English.


SKILLS

· Effective communication skills both written and oral.

· Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email is required.

· Required to be “On Call” for this 24/7/365 production facility.
