Description
Summary/Objective:
The Mechanical Engineer supports the design, development, and continuous improvement of mechanical components, systems, and manufacturing processes. This role works closely with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to deliver accurate documentation, reliable products, and efficient manufacturing methods. The position also ensures the accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs), maintains product data integrity across systems, and drives process and product improvements aligned with company quality and cost objectives.
Essential Functions:
o Develop and maintain detailed mechanical designs, 3D models, and technical drawings.
o Perform engineering calculations, testing, and feasibility studies to support new and existing products.
o Support prototype builds, testing, and validation, ensuring designs meet performance and safety standards.
o Create, update, and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support manufacturing and purchasing.
o Verify consistency between engineering drawings, BOMs, and ERP data.
o Assist with engineering change management, including drawing revisions and documentation updates.
o Identify opportunities to improve product performance, reduce cost, and streamline production.
o Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
o Provide sustaining support for existing products and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
o Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and share technical knowledge with others.

Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
o Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
o Experience with mechanical design tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
o Working knowledge of ERP systems and BOM management
o Understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and materials
Preferred Education and Experience:
o Experience with process improvement or Lean Manufacturing
o Familiarity with documentation control and revision processes
o Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or data management tools
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
