SUMMARY 


Coordinate, assist, delegate and help train the activities of CASE Process Engineers, Supervisors and Operators when new equipment and processes are introduced in the production areas. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 


Responsible for the introduction and installation of new processes, equipment and their justifications through ROI calculations. 

Providing the costs, methods, quality and quantity of production, operations and the training of personnel for these new processes and equipment. 

In addition to training, perform similar work to those trained. 

Participate in ISO 9002 corrective action reports. 

Plan and lay out work areas efficiently and instruct, direct, train and assist chemical operators and specialists in performing the tasks necessary in these areas. 

Maintain equipment, work areas and eliminate safety hazards. 

Check machine or equipment defects to determine if they’re possible root causes to non- conformances. 

Maintain discipline, morale and harmonious personnel relations and adjust primary grievances. 

Ability to work in all chemical engineering disciplines, in terms of process layout, unit operations, process control, cost estimation, etc.

Requirements

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 


May directly supervise operators or specialists in the CASE Production Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. 


SAFETY TRAINING To perform this job successfully, an individual must complete and maintain Safety Training according to the Safety Training Matrix. 


QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 


Bachelor of Science degree in a chemical or engineering related field; to three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift experience is required. Must be familiar with Quality Control testing including viscosity, NCO, Karl Fischer, percent solids, pH, and stability. Training/orientation upon hire. The employee must complete all departmental training requirements within 90 days to retain this position. 


 LANGUAGE SKILLS 


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. To organize and conduct all new employee training and refresher courses, as necessary. 


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Calculations involving mass balance, reaction rates, heat/mass transfers, separation processes, and cost and optimizational engineering. 


REASONING ABILITY 


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, computer model, or schedule form.

Employees in this position are required to wear a full-face respirator and company with TSE Respiratory Protection Program and Title 19 CFR 1910.134. Employees with facial hair or other conditions that would compromise the facepiece-to-face seal cannot work in this position. Examples of these conditions include beards or sideburns that interfere with the facepiece seal or valve function, certain dentures or dental conditions, facial deformities (e.g., scars, deep skin creases, prominent cheekbones), or the use of jewelry or headgear that projects under and interferes with the facepiece seal.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
