A confidential manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems across a high-performance industrial facility. The role focuses on hydraulics, pneumatics, filtration, and conveyance systems, with additional emphasis on computational modeling and cross-functional integration with automation and controls teams.
This is a key engineering position offering the opportunity to contribute to both day-to-day improvement initiatives and large-scale capital projects, supporting a fast-growing production operation.
Design, modify, and improve mechanical systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, filtration, and conveyance operations
Perform fluid flow and heat transfer analysis using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools
Conduct feasibility assessments, perform engineering calculations, and run simulations to enhance mechanical performance
Create detailed CAD models, technical documentation, and fabrication drawings
Troubleshoot issues in production environments related to mechanical or fluid systems
Collaborate with controls and electrical engineers on equipment integration projects
Ensure mechanical systems align with safety regulations, industry standards, and internal engineering practices
Prepare reports, technical documentation, and updates for stakeholders and leadership
Evaluate new technologies, materials, and vendor-supplied components for potential integration
Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts
Other responsibilities as assigned by engineering leadership
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design, system optimization, or equipment support
Strong understanding of fluid systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and filtration
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar)
Experience with CFD tools such as ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, or similar platforms
Familiarity with PLC integration and industrial automation systems
Understanding of material handling, mechanical fabrication, and weld design
Exposure to finite element analysis (FEA) in addition to CFD
