Primarily responsible for the development, testing and improving of manufactured products of AutoGate as well as maintaining the supporting drawings and documents related to those items. Individuals in this position may work from sales order requirements, plant requests or other specifications, and will arrive at a final design utilizing CAD software and engineering calculations as required. Mechanical Designers are capable of working independently but will be required to work as a part of a cross-functional team as needed. This position does not have any managerial responsibilities but will require working with and may include overseeing/checking work of designers, drafters or engineers.

Education and/or Experience
Associates degree with one to two years of related experience, or equivalent on the job engineering experience will also be considered.
Computer Skills
Must have an above average knowledge of AutoDesk products such as; AutoCAD, Inventor and AutoDesk Vault. Knowledge of other drafting/modeling packages will be considered.
Candidate must be familiar with Microsoft Office products.
Language and Mathematical Skills:
Above average verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/electrical schematics.
Proficient in algebra and geometry and how to apply to solve engineering problems is a plus.
Physical Demands:
The employee works in the office but does have frequent interaction with personnel on the shop floor. Use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and protective work shoes are required on the shop floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk. Employee may be required to lift up to 40 Lbs. with or without assistance.
