The Design Engineer’s primary responsibilities will be:
- Design of special hydraulic and recycling equipment.
- Using mechanical aptitude and innovation to solve complex engineering problems
- Perform structural analysis and testing on machine frames
- Project management including interfacing with customers, specifying components for purchase and generating and managing timelines.
- Participate in startup and commissioning of machinery
- Creating documentation including writing technical manuals
Candidate will obtain significant training and expertise in the following areas:
- 3-D Machine Design Using SolidWorks
- Structural analysis using FEA software
- PLC and HMI programming
- Hydraulic design (including our 12-week training course)
- “Hands-on” skills such as welding, milling, machine assembly
Qualifications:
- Mechanical engineering degree from an accredited university
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
- 3-D CAD Experience (SolidWorks is preferred)
- Experience designing precision machine parts for manufacturing including manufacturing drawings, correct print tolerances, exploded views, etc.
- Familiar with machine components such as
o Power transmission (Induction motor, servo motors and gearboxes)
o Linear guides
o Pneumatic or hydraulic systems
o PLC’s, sensors and transducers
The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, be willing to travel (approximately 10% of the time) and have a strong mechanical aptitude
