Design Engineer
1st Shift | Full-Time
We're seeking a hands-on Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks experience to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing complete mechanical systems and assemblies—not just individual components. You'll collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and production teams to develop equipment, tooling, and custom machinery from concept through production.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop complete mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings
- Design components that integrate into larger machines and systems
- Work closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective
- Manage engineering changes, revisions, and BOMs
- Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and product improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, purchasing, and project management
- Ensure designs meet customer specifications, safety standards, and manufacturing requirements
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience
- Advanced proficiency with** **SolidWorks (Parts, Assemblies, Drawings)
- Experience designing large, complex assemblies rather than single standalone parts
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly
- Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and GD&T is preferred
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
