The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for the assembly of fabricated and electrical components, subassemblies, and miscellaneous enclosures. This
role is very detail-oriented and requires preparing, positioning, assembling, and verifying parts that go into creating our products. The Mechanical Assemblermust have mechanical and technical skills for this position.
Responsibilities:
Interpret 3D models to understand assembly process and basic computer skills (i.e. email)
Use basic hand tools to assemble cabinet components (i.e. sub-assemblies, frames, main, etc.)
Installation of flexibar and power cables as required by product design
Understand torque drawings and apply properly
Inspection of parts, materials and assemblies to comply with company quality standards
Report quality issues to supervisors and leads
Properly communicating/documenting with supervision as required in the position
Be dynamic and flexible as work content evolves
Requirements:
Assembly in a manufacturing environment or transferrable mechanical experience
Must have the ability to read assembly drawings and follow direction
Ability to use hand tools & wire crimpers
Preferred:
Excellent documentation skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to navigate an array of computer programs
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and handle heavy parts up to 35 lbs.
Must be able to stand for extended time periods, up to the entire eight-hour shift
Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, or climb a stepladder while working
Must be able to reach above and forward at least 18 inches
Must possess hand dexterity and install small hardware
MORE ABOUT THE COMPANY:
They have three buildings within less than two miles of one another. - one on Danner Drive and one on
Harris and one on Philipp Parkway
Most of the units they are working on assembling have two panels.
The overall process looks like this; Wiring, Assembly, Pre Inspection, Testing, Staging, Shipping.
First building is mostly fabricating and second building does the assembly and wiring.
They were when we visited, so busy that they were quoting their customers a ten-month lead time.
They utilize all kinds of machinery- water jets, press brakes, lasers, robotics.
They have one laser that cuts 65 feet per minute.
The end product looks like a control panel box, most are about 6-8’ high by about 6’ wide and about 4’ deep.
Buildings combined are a little over 30,000 square feet.
Siemens, Vertiv and Simon Electric are their main competitors.
