Job Overview:

DESCRIPTION


The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for the installation of components, assemblies and sub-assemblies on the production line(s) and mechanical tasks as they apply to production or repairs of product, diagnose hydraulic components and diesel engines.  


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Mechanical Assembly
  • Installs purchased, assembled, and preassembled components.
  • Conducts mechanical installations according to general instructions and established standards.
  • Lifts and moves assemblies and components.
  • Assembles product components to meet published schedules as directed.
  • Examines product for proper fit and function.
  • Practices safe work procedures at all times; leads by example.
  • Assists in the organization of the shop floor work.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in precision layout and measurement per drawings, hand drawings, or revisions


  1. Inspection, Testing & Commissioning
  • Examines all work performed in assigned areas.
  • Conducts installation inspections.
  • Participates in commissioning, operator training, and testing as required.


  1. Problem Solving & Other Responsibilities
  • Exhibits strong problem-solving, decision-making, job task planning, and organizational capabilities.
  • Completes assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Demonstrates both the ability and desire to improve processes and reduce waste.
  • Performs other duties as required and directed.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS


Education and Experience:

  • Previous work experience preferred

 

Specific Skills:

  • Effective time management skills to assist in coordinating the department over multiple shifts. 
  • Exceptional people skills and a can-do attitude are essential keys to success in this role. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to excel in a team environment. 
  • Strong work ethic. 
  • Safety procedure adherence. 
  • Good oral communication. 
  • Problem solving/ decision making/ job task planning and organization. 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs./ manual dexterity. 
  • Demonstrate teamwork and commitment to ongoing training for success in the position. 
  • Read and interpret blueprints/ drawing specifications.
  • Able to operate and maintain general hand and air tools – brake, sheer grinding equipment. 
  • Have an understanding of standard work procedures. 
  • Follow and give oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population.
