Hours: M-Thu 7:00am-5:30pm.
Summary
Assembles the mechanical components on test chambers prior to transitioning the chamber to electrical assembly and final test.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Builds the mechanical portion of all chamber models utilizing basic skills and the basic understanding of the process flow.
- Works under direct supervision.
- Follows company engineering documents and written work instructions with minimal assistance.
- Builds sub-assemblies such as door assemblies, heater frame assemblies, sheet metal panel assemblies, and motor assemblies.
- Installs all parts and sub-assemblies to complete the mechanical assembly of the chamber insuring that all details are accomplished properly.
- Performs minor electrical connections of motors and heaters.
- Cuts and installs insulation.
- Pulls parts from warehouse to fulfill work orders.
- Initiates CPR’s when non-conformances occur during assembly.
- Uses hand tools such as drills, wrenches, grinders, screwdrivers and knives.
- Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Regular, physical attendance is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum two years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Must be able to read tape measure.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multiple step instructions.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with frequent variables.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
