Job Summary

iBoost Talent is seeking a Mechanical Assembler for a manufacturing operation in Wilmington, NC. This is a hands-on position focused on assembling components, using tools and equipment, following detailed work instructions, and producing quality finished products.

The ideal candidate will have previous mechanical assembly experience, with experience assembling industrial hoses, hydraulic hoses, fittings, tubing, or similar products preferred. Candidates without direct hose experience may be considered if they have strong, transferable mechanical, manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, maintenance, or assembly skills and demonstrate solid mechanical aptitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble hoses, fittings, and related components according to specifications
• Perform mechanical assembly involving different parts, components, and configurations
• Complete multiple tasks and changeovers throughout the workday
• Set up and operate assembly equipment, including computer-interfaced equipment
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
• Measure and cut materials accurately
• Read and follow standard work instructions and assembly procedures
• Inspect completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and proper fit
• Safely follow established procedures and workplace safety requirements
• Maintain an efficient workflow while handling multiple assembly tasks
• Work collaboratively with other assemblers and team members
• Learn and perform different assembly processes as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve assembly efficiency and performance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous mechanical assembly, manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance, automotive, or other hands-on mechanical experience
• Hose assembly experience is preferred, particularly industrial, hydraulic, pneumatic, or similar hose applications
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new assembly processes
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
• Ability to accurately measure and work with basic measurements and calculations
• Ability to read and follow written instructions, procedures, or assembly documentation
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable, dependable, and willing to perform a variety of tasks
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Transferable Experience

Candidates with experience in the following areas may have relevant transferable skills:

• Mechanical assembly
• Industrial manufacturing
• Hydraulic or pneumatic equipment
• Automotive assembly or repair
• Machine assembly
• Fabrication
• Maintenance
• Plumbing or pipe/tubing assembly
• Electrical or equipment assembly
• Installation and repair of mechanical components

Direct hose assembly experience is a plus, but strong mechanical assembly experience and demonstrated mechanical aptitude are required.

Physical & Work Environment

• Ability to stand and walk throughout the work shift
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform hands-on assembly tasks
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to handle small components and tools with good manual dexterity
• Work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations, and moving equipment
