Job Overview:

Position Summary

Lean Synergy Solutions is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to support operations at

Ingersoll Machine Tools in Rockford, Illinois. This role is responsible for assembling complex

mechanical components and large-scale machinery utilizing engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and detailed specifications. The Mechanical Assembler will work closely with cross-functional team members to fabricate, assemble, modify, and support high-performance industrial equipment and jet engine-related assemblies in a manufacturing environment focused on precision, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, fitting, filing, reaming, riveting, crimping, swaging, and adjustment

operations on mechanical components and assemblies.

  • Utilize light machine tools including drill presses, arbor presses, air and hydraulic

presses, riveting machines, and hand tools.

  • Trim, file, and fit parts to specification while verifying tolerances using gauges, calipers,

micrometers, and precision measuring equipment.

  • Operate and utilize torque wrenches, force gauges, dial indicators, and additional

precision instruments to ensure assembly accuracy.

  • Collaborate with team members to layout, fabricate, assemble, and modify jet engine

assemblies, test articles, support systems, and test stands.

  • Operate a variety of tools and support utilities used in assembly and testing operations.
  • Assist in setting up test stands and preparing test articles in accordance with established procedures and engineering requirements.
  • Prepare completed assemblies and test articles for transportation and long-term storage.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and production teams to maintain workflow,

quality standards, and operational efficiency.

  • Follow all safety procedures, manufacturing standards, and company policies.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of mechanical assembly experience within a manufacturing

or industrial environment.

  • Experience using hand and precision tools including:

o Wrenches

o Calipers

o Micrometers

o Torque wrenches

o Air levels

o Drills and taps

o Hand grinders

  • Experience operating industrial equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, fluid schematics, and detailed mechanical diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to interpret assembly tolerance requirements and identify proper tools and

methods to achieve specifications.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience working with large machinery or industrial equipment.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Vocational or trade school certification preferred.
  • Must be dependable and willing to work scheduled hours, including overtime and

weekends as needed.

  • Must be able to travel up to 40% of the time to customer sites.

• Compensation: $17.76 - $30.00/hour
