Position Summary:
Under moderate to direct supervision, the Mechanical Assembler is responsible for installing and assembling mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components according to manuals, diagrams, and product knowledge. This role requires the use of hand tools, power tools, gauges, and pneumatic equipment in a fast-paced assembly line environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Install hydraulic and electrical components accurately and efficiently.
Fasten parts using bolts, screws, rivets, cotter pins, spaced clips, and other fasteners with hand and pneumatic power tools (including impact wrenches).
Position and secure engine block components to truck bodies using wrenches, hammers, and power hoists.
Assemble and bolt subassemblies, power modules, and fan housings; set proper fan clearance using torque wrenches and hand tools.
Operate drills, riveting machines, and hydraulic crimping machines as needed.
Identify, distribute, and stage parts to proper locations.
Perform testing on assemblies to verify correct installation and functionality.
Operate forklift and crane/hoist equipment when required.
Accurately record work order data and inventory transactions.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret manuals, diagrams, and work instructions.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.
Forklift and crane/hoist experience is a plus (or willingness to be trained).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
