 We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to join our Main Assembly team. In this hands-on role, you will assemble complex components for build-to-order configurations, including prototype units, using engineering prints, build sheets, and bills of materials. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, team-oriented, and have experience working with hydraulic and diesel systems.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve and follow build instructions using the Build Book program
  • Assemble components according to engineering drawings and bills of materials
  • Request necessary parts from the Parts Department
  • Lay out truck details for each job according to engineering specifications
  • Perform final assembly of each unit, including installation of hoods, lighting, electrical components, and decals per customer specifications
  • Connect hydraulic lines, fill systems with oil, and prepare equipment for functional testing
  • Prepare trucks for sub-frame assembly by disassembling, measuring, repositioning, and reassembling parts
  • Perform quality checks and test assemblies to ensure proper operation
  • Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Maintain tools and a clean, organized workspace
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of mechanical assembly or maintenance experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and assembly skills
  • Experience working with hydraulic, electrical, gas, and diesel systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic, and electrical schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable using computers to access work instructions and log labor
  • Preferred:
  • Certification or associate’s degree in auto repair or related field
  • Experience working with heavy mechanical equipment

 Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move around, under, and over large equipment (95% of the time on production floor)
  • Must lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Will occasionally work outdoors in all weather conditions (approx. 5% of the time)
