Purpose:
Under general supervision, the Mechanic II repairs, rebuilds, diagnoses, and tests cement pumping equipment to ensure quality, safety, and functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment brought in for repair.
- Determine the most cost-effective repair method and make repair recommendations to the Production Manager or customer.
- Identify, gather, and install the appropriate parts needed for repairs.
- Connect hydraulic lines and fill systems with oil in preparation for testing.
- Prepare trucks for sub-frame assembly by disassembling, measuring, repositioning, installing parts, and reassembling units according to procedures.
- Test assembled parts and products to confirm they function properly and meet quality standards.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
- Perform other reasonably similar or related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Formal training beyond high school, such as auto repair certification or associate degree, preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience.
- Heavy mechanical equipment experience preferred.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, electrical, gas, and diesel systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and electrical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills for looking up work instructions, tracking labor, and completing related tasks.
