Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on diesel engines, including trucks, buses, and refuse vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
- Inspect and test vehicle systems, including brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Replace or repair defective parts and components as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Collaborate with team members to improve shop efficiency and safety practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with trucks, buses, or refuse vehicles.
- Strong understanding of diesel engine systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
