EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•Previous work in a manufacturing environment as a Maintenance Mechanic with 3 to 5 years experience.
•Two or more years of technical training or school within the field.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
This position exists for the purpose of performing tasks such as troubleshooting, repair, and installation of production and support equipment. Personally handle general repair work and maintenance on all mechanical components, machinery, motors, and associated hardware. Assist with the assembly and installation of new equipment for electrical and mechanical areas. Use various hand and power tools and operate all types of electronic troubleshooting equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance and servicing tasks such as cleaning, adjusting and inspections on mechanical equipment. Assist with production and support equipment design, fabrication, installation and training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Troubleshoot and repair existing equipment when assigned along with completing preventive maintenance tasks. This requires the ability to accurately diagnose, troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment for both production and support of the plant. Some additional welding; plumbing; carpentry; and minor electrical work will also be necessary. 65%
•Design, fabricate, assemble and install parts, fixtures or entire assemblies as requested by Engineering or Department Managers. 25%
•Initiates necessary parts request form for un-stocked parts so repairs can be completed. This requires the employee to research equipment files, blue prints, and machine history to determine part numbers or identification of needed part. 5%
•Requires documentation of drawings, layouts, time sheets, work orders and cost reduction or safety proposals. 5%
•Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Manager or designate.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
•Accurately read, write, perform mathematical calculations, understand verbal or written instructions, and provide verbal or written information and instructions to others. Accurately troubleshoot production and support equipment problems. Work continuous shift if requested, and work scheduled and unscheduled overtime along with maintaining a good attendance record. Sustain very good work habits and personal initiative and must work well with others or alone on job assignments. Individual must follow all safety and health rules along with maintaining housekeeping in areas of responsibility. Individual must be able to distinguishing colors correctly and read electrical schematics.
•This position requires significant standing and walking, as well as the ability to carry or push their personal tools/toolbox while completing job tasks during the normal workday. Kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing, and pulling are necessary. Occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs. will be necessary when conducting job duties. Material handling and lifting tools available. Some job tasks will also require working with heights. Examples include climbing silos, working from ladders and performing necessary work on the roof of the plant. Individual must be capable of operating boom lifts, scissor lifts and forklifts once certified. Must be able to work in both hot and cold temperature conditions.

•OJT - Will use company systems – PRT and/or MX Open
