We are looking for a Materials Manager to add to our growing team!


We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager to lead inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, and overall materials management within a fast-paced Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.

This position is responsible for ensuring material availability, inventory accuracy, on-time customer delivery, and cost-effective materials operations. The Materials Manager will directly supervise the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor and Inventory/Warehouse Supervisor while partnering closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead inventory control, warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting, audits, reconciliations, and effective control processes.
  • Monitor inventory turns, aging, excess and obsolete materials, and working capital.
  • Manage shipping schedules, customer delivery requirements, and freight costs.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems and materials metrics to improve performance.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions related to material shortages, inventory discrepancies, supplier issues, and shipping errors.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Materials team members while establishing performance expectations and KPIs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve material constraints and support customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered for internal candidates.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in materials management, purchasing, supply chain, or operations within an electronics manufacturing or EMS environment.
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience managing purchasing, inventory, warehouse, logistics, or related teams.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, purchasing, and production planning.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
