Summary

Responsible for accounts management, inventory management, logistics and distribution. Plans, organizes, and directs inventory and warehouse to meet company objectives by performing the following duties personally and through subordinates.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

(but not limited to…)

  • Lead internal efforts in developing best practices throughout the distribution, logistics and inventory management organization.
  • Develop transportation and warehousing strategies for new products, evaluate potential suppliers and make appropriate recommendations to senior management.
  • Manage the network of suppliers supporting the product line and tool crib.
  • Ensure that all suppliers comply with legal, quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain third-party service provider relationships for domestic freight, warehousing, and related logistics services.
  • Investigate cause analysis issues for problem reconciliation and lead corrective action for complaints related to transportation, logistics handling and warehousing of finished product.
  • Oversee requisitions for items requested to be ordered to replenish stock levels, introduce new items or a special order of a product.
  • Monitor supplies and component inventory levels and ensure balance with production scheduling.
  • Responsible for integrity of invoices and purchase order numbers for cross referencing.
  • Resolves disputes on certain orders and clarifies mistakes pertaining to requisitions.
  • Responsible for inventory integrity in finished goods, supplies, components, and tool crib.
  • Load production data (run sheets) to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Audit in process run sheets for accuracy and completion.
  • Select which records are to be reviewed for the inventory cycle counting.
  • "Freeze" records until corrected and released back.
  • Keep track of inventory process and ensure compliance to standard work.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 6 years related experience and/or training, and 4 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, from production associates to senior leaders.
  • Ability to function as a team player and be comfortable leading without authority.
  • Ability to build credibility and trust.

  • Must be proficient with the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Minitab statistical analysis software.
