Saab, Inc., is searching for a Materials Manager to lead a team of highly skilled Warehouse Professionals who are responsible for supporting warehousing and management of materials for a munition's facility located in Northern Michigan. As the Materials Manager, you will organize and direct the warehouse team to ensure safe, effective, and efficient management of munitions and associated materials. You will be responsible for ensuring that all warehouse activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations. You will also be responsible for the management and control of those material assets and for the warehousing policies and processes utilized at the site. This position is based out of Saab, Inc.'s munitions manufacturing location in Grayling, Michigan.
Responsibilities of the Manager of Subcontracts will include:
Recruit, train, develop, and retain a high performing team of professionals.
Develop and deploy policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations, along with compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Monitor regulatory and legal requirements and make choses to policy and procedure where appropriate.
Own and manage all aspects of inventory control activities.
Perform staffing assessments, lead team meetings, hold standing 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports and manage work assignments to level load workloads across the team.
Coach and mentor employees through training, career planning, routine meetings, goal setting, mid-year reviews, and end-of-year reviews.
Routinely communicate with internal customers from the business and operations customers as well as senior leadership within the Saab Inc organization.
Implement templates, establish and monitor metrics, and implement corrective actions.
Perform risk assessments and deploy preventative actions.
Compensation Range: $120,800- $157,000
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Experience in the warehousing and management of munitions depots
Advanced Experience in Microsoft Office
Leadership experience over logistics professionals
Experience in developing plans and budgets
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams both domestically and internationally
Must be capable of obtaining a Secret level security clearance
Experience building and leading teams of 10 people or more
