Job Summary: 

The Materials Manager is primarily responsible for managing the materials department.  This position is responsible for managing the master schedule, production control and the inventory control team. This person will be responsible for leading all key initiatives within the department to drive improvements in inventory accuracy, inventory turns, leading all inventory control activities including cycle counting, obsolescence and scrap.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.   (Other duties may be assigned):

 

  • Champion safety guidelines for the department.
  • Initiate and lead improvement activities.
  • Monitors the cycle count program and reconciles variances.
  • Facilitates the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOPs) process.
  • Liaison between sales and operations. 
  • Developing and monitoring the master schedule.
  • Develop and implement a cycle count program.
  • Responsible for material movement and material control policy.
  • Plans and coordinates work in material handling. 
  • Trains, motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of the material handling department.
  • HR and Administration: Manage performance reviews and time off requests. 
  • Supports and conforms to Quality Management System requirements as defined by CEG and ISO 9001:2015.

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent experience in manufacturing operations and production.
  • A strong background in industry and equipment manufacturing.
  • Strong managerial and administrative capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of various production and management applications.
  • Integrity that is above reproach.
