Job Overview:

The Vertiv Corporation in Lincoln, Nebraska is searching to backfill a recent promotion. The Materials and Manufacturing Planning Manager position provides leadership, direction and ensures strategic deployment of materials management within the manufacturing site and its production line(s). Responsibilities include amongst others: SI&OP forecast management and review, development of materials and resource plan, master scheduling, production planning, materials planning/buying and inventory planning. This role will also be the conduit for big projects ensuring materials and resources planning. On the strategy side, this function will work with procurement and logistics to set material plans driven by market needs of finish goods and commodity strategies.

This key position operates in a matrix organizational structure and works closely with Sales, Operations and Demand Management, Procurement and Logistics.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Monitor and direct the materials and manufacturing planning, production control, material control functions associated with the support of plant manufacturing operation.  
  • Develop performance measurements for department functions. Sets aggressive improvement goals and report results on a regular basis.  
  • Manage the planning and flow of materials and FGs to maximize delivery performance while optimizing inventory performance. 
  • Manage a team of buyers and planners.. Increase productivity, professional development, and careers. 
  • Develop & create training plans to maximize workforce capability.  
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and provide regular feedback. 
  • Schedule and conduct department meetings; foster employee engagement and ensure that business and operational goals are effectively communicated to employees. 
  • Manages all department projects and ensures the directions and anticipated results are in line with power business initiatives and priorities. 
  • Support the SIOP process and step in to lead as required  
  • Identify, share, and implement best in class supply chain practices  
  • Develop standard work, policies, and procedures in collaboration with other facilities Materials Managers and professional supply chain resources  
  • Suggest and lead continuous improvement for your department and others  
  • Manage Supplier held inventory programs to improve delivery, reduce lead-times and avoid E&O and risk to Vertiv  
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive continuous improvement for Vertiv  
  • Collaborate with other facilities and regions of the world to optimize inventory globally  
  • ITC leader for Materials Department  
  • Monitor capacities and product line delivery performance and daily throughputs.  
  • Work with manufacturing operation to improve material flow through the plant and increase productivity  
  • Drive Rigorous Operating Cadence (Tier Accountability). 
  • Drive and support Oracle and or other tools implementation and further process and tools enhancements, focusing on area of Planning and Purchasing. 
  • Other duties as assigned  

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • BA or BS in Business Administration or related field  
  • 5-10 years of experience  
  • APICS or CPM certification preferred  
  • Bilingual preferred  
  • MBA or related advanced degree strongly preferred  
  • Knowledge of SIOP and production scheduling dynamics  
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams  

Required/ Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a controlling role, ideally with an audit background.
  • Chartered accountant with strong technical accounting skills.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience in implementing and using ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, advanced Excel skills, and fluency in German and English.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage a varied workload and drive change processes.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Potentially long working hours during monthly and annual closing. Daily presence in Company’s offices is required, with limited possibility to work from remote.

Time Travel Needed:

  • up to 15%
