Job Overview:

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Material Area Supervisor. This role is responsible for overseeing material receiving and delivery operations, supporting production through inventory and material flow management, and allocating resources to maintain operational performance. The ideal candidate will lead hourly manufacturing employees while driving safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Duties

  • Lead hourly employees in material receiving, inventory control, and production line replenishment activities
  • Support daily production operations by identifying issues and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime
  • Allocate manpower and resources to maintain production throughput and operational efficiency
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to ensure uninterrupted production support
  • Collaborate with labor representatives and plant personnel to address operational and workforce concerns
  • Establish and enforce safe operating procedures for material handling equipment and related activities
  • Track and report key performance metrics related to safety, quality, inventory accuracy, and production performance
  • Participate in and promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation

Skills & Experience

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting production operations, material flow, inventory management, or logistics functions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace applications
  • Experience preparing operational reports and performance metrics
  • Strong understanding of production support, safety, quality, and inventory control processes
  • Availability to work any shift and overtime as required

Desired

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field
  • 18+ months of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience managing material handling equipment operations and maintenance coordination
  • Exposure to production scheduling, inventory control systems, and warehouse operations
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Public speaking or presentation experience within an operational setting
