JOB SUMMARY:

The Materials Specialist I will be responsible for supporting internal and external customers through material planning, accurate receiving, stocking, delivery, and shipment of materials. In addition, Materials Specialist is capable of operating various material support equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Support plant teams with materials, trouble-shooting and resolve system issues in Mapics, and facilitate parts inventory for plant production while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Partner with internal and external customers on a daily basis, with the maximum level of customer service to ensure timely and satisfactory results.
  • Serve as an internal production planner for manufactured items within assigned location; includes maintaining work orders, release of work orders, production schedules, sales change materials management, and actioning reschedules.
  • Troubleshoot and correct receiving discrepancies; maintain stock counts and specified levels (min/max).
  • Allocation maintenance in support of engineering revisions.
  • Support corporate materials initiatives including: cycle count program, ISL management, bin consumption, and others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel 5%.

PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to pass internal Powered Industrial Equipment license test.
  • Ability to operate various pieces of equipment in assigned Operations Facility (i.e. Stand-up, Sit-down, Combi, Lancer, Tugger).

  • Physical Demands: Frequent Hearing, Talking, Visual, Standing, Walking/Running, Sitting, Driving, Typing, Fine Dexterity, Manual Dexterity; Occasional Reaching, Climbing, Bending/Kneeling, Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion, Lifting/Carrying up to 40lbs., Pushing/Pulling up to 40lbs.
  • Non-Physical Demands: Frequent Communication/Interpretation, Reading; Occasional Analysis/Reasoning, Math/Mental Computation, Writing; Seldom Sustained Mental Activity (i.e., auditing, problem solving, grant writing, composing reports, etc.).
  • Environmental Demands: Frequent Task Changes, High Volume Public Contact, Dust, Temperature Extremes, Loud Noises; Occasional Work Alone, Tedious/Exacting Work.
  • Work Schedule: Considerable irregularity of hours due to frequent overtime, weekend or shift rotation.
  • Demands/Deadlines: Occasional stress due to deadlines or workload because of intermittent or cyclical work pressures, or occasional exposure to distressed individuals within the immediate work environment.
