Material Handler: The Water Spider Material Handler plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the sheet metal manufacturing process. This position is responsible for maintaining the flow of materials, supplies, and tools to the prototype work centers, ensuring that all necessary resources are available to meet demands. The Water Spider will work closely with production teams to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Replenishment: Regularly monitor and replenish materials, supplies, and tools at various work centers to ensure continuous production flow.
- Process Support: Assist prototype teams by providing necessary resources and addressing any material-related issues that may arise during the process.
- Communication: Liaise with the prototype team and leaders to understand material requirements and ensure timely delivery of resources.
- Waste Reduction: Identify and implement strategies to reduce waste and improve the efficiency of material handling processes.
- Documentation: Ensure all moves and material transactions are documented in Plex.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Skills/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in manufacturing or logistics is a plus.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or logistics role, preferably within the sheet metal industry.
- Valid US Driver’s License
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices is highly desirable.
