In this role you are responsible for transporting material around the facility with a sit-down forklift prioritizing requests for production to run smoothly and efficiently perform multiple tasks throughout the day to ensure safe and quality production.
Shift: Training will be conducted on the first shift, Monday–Friday, from 6:00 AM–2:30 PM for approximately 2–3 weeks. After training, you will transition to your permanent schedule of Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM–12:00 AM.
General Responsibilities:
• Complete daily forklift mechanical inspection; ensure equipment is working properly and report any problems.
• Safely transport finished goods to inventory warehouse and follow proper stacking procedures.
• Load/unload metal bundles, pallets and other materials from flatbed and box trailers.
• Verify accuracy of inbound/outbound paperwork with shipped materials and enter information into computer system.
• Prepare damage reports for cartons scrap or replace material following standard operating procedures.
• Follow pick lists and shipping invoices to prepare the required number of units for shipment.
• Perform and maintain all work in a safe manner; use proper lock-out procedures during repairs or machine adjustments. Wear the required PPE and make certain that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
• Perform these and other related duties as assigned or directed.
• Actively participate in communication and company computer.
Desired Experience
• Material Handling: Move and stage material as scheduled for optimum machine efficiency. Provide support by emptying tubs and ensuring lines are cleared of finished product. Locate material into finished goods as needed.
• Provide the line with needed materials.
• Safety: Responsible for all safety aspects regarding forklift/heavy equipment. Daily checks must be completed and logged. All JI and Safety Protocol must be followed. Conducts daily inspection of equipment used.
• Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work and be able to get on and off a Forklift for 8 hrs a day.
