Job Overview:
Purpose
Under general supervision, the Material Handler receives product into the parts area and packages and ships domestic spare parts orders.
Essential Job Functions
Pull parts orders according to production schedules and deliver to the assembly area.
Construct crates and packaging based on the type and nature of parts being shipped.
Review daily shipping requirements and schedules to ensure compliance.
Measure shipments to determine appropriate truck or van size.
Maintain adequate supplies of packing materials and shipping supplies.
Conduct visual inspections of bills of lading and shipment contents for accuracy.
Coordinate daily product pickups with other parts employees.
Load and unload trucks and containers; process related paperwork in the system.
Distribute incoming goods to appropriate departments.
Handle weldments for inspection and rejection returns.
Stock parts and create warehouse locations for new inventory.
Notify production leads of incoming parts and fulfill backorders.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Work outdoors in all weather conditions approximately 15% of the time.
Work inside the plant facility approximately 85% of the time.
Education, Skills & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of three years of warehouse/distribution experience.
Forklift certification preferred.
Basic computer skills for shipping instructions and order processing.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
