Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to move materials between the weld and grind departments as prioritized by the company. This position requires forklift ability, organizational and prioritization skills, and strong workplace safety understanding. As a member of the associate family, this position is often required to aid other departments as company needs and business dictate.

Role and Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and other written instructions or procedures to assemble equipment and product accurately.
• Use safe procedures for loading and unloading production material to and from racks and machines to stage material according to company specifications
• Follow written and oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties
• Ability to identify material types (stainless steel, and aluminum)
• Recognize product flaws and implement corrective action as needed
• Work closely with Supervisors and Department Leads on prioritizing workload
• Reports problems to Supervisor
• Records and escalates issues to Supervisor to ensure output is correct and is good quality
• Must stage all supplies as necessary to maintain production readiness
• Required to have a proper and accurate entry into the M1 data collection system.
• Actively participate in improving processes and systems.
• Promote a safe and clean work environment by continuous cleaning throughout the day.
• Work with personnel to clean the work area every day before leaving.
• Work productively as a team member with other employees fostering a strong team mentality
• Accurately follow OSHA guidelines and maintain compliance for all business obligations.
• Accurately follow ISO procedures.
• Consistently meet company set productivity guidelines
• Consistently follows all safety instructions

• Regular attendance is a necessary essential job function and required to meet company productivity standards

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, time management, and organizational skills
• A high degree of accuracy in data entry required
• Ability to pass a forklift certification test, previous forklift experience a plus.
• Strong numerical reasoning ability
• Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
• High attention to detail and self-motivation skills

Working Conditions

• The humidity level will be elevated during the summer months.
• Exposure to specific contaminants throughout work should be expected infrequently.
• Exposure to loud noise levels, earplugs are provided and recommended
• Safety glasses are required on the plant floor at all times.
• Steel toe or composite toe shoes recommended

Physical Demands

• Must have a full range of motion and be able to position self to kneel and bend for extended periods as the task may require.
• This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• This position requires long periods of standing
• The use of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, helmets, and hearing protection, is utilized daily.
• This position requires lifting and maneuvering 50lbs and up to 70lbs with the assistance of lifting equipment or other team members.
• This position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
• This is a 40 hour per week job with occasional mandatory overtime.
