Description
As a member of the Fulfillment Center Team, the Material Handler – Tier 1 is responsible for completing and coordinating the day-to-day operational functions of packing, shipping, receiving, dispatching and distribution of goods and supplies.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Counting, sorting, weighing, and stocking all inbound goods and authenticating the receipt of the same in accord with the shipping note.
- Inspecting the received goods, making note of any damage and/or discrepancies, and immediately reporting them to the Team Lead and/or the Fulfillment Center Manager.
- Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
- Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
- Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
- Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated storage area.
- Assembling customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping station.
- Marking materials with identifying information using appropriately trained method.
- Opening bales, crates, and other containers.
- Placing tags and labels on the received stock.
- Maintaining accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made.
- Weighing and counting items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Preparing parcels for shipping.
- Aid in maintaining stock counts of physical inventory throughout the Fulfillment Center.
- Retrieving product for pull tickets via forklift or by hand.
- Daily cleaning work areas (sweeping, dusting, mopping) and monitoring equipment maintenance with any issues/concerns being immediately communicated to the Team Lead and/or Fulfillment Center Manager to address.
- Proposing suggestions to the Fulfillment Center Manager or Team Leads about documentation, storage, and procurement of goods.
- Operating a forklift to unload/load of truck freight.
- Following all safety regulations, legal documentation & ISO requirements, and quality control pertaining to the Fulfillment Center.
- Wearing the proper safety equipment.

Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Competencies
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with the ability to learn new computer programs as required
- A keen attention to detail and follow through with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks while being a part of a team
- Committed team player with caring attitude
- Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders.
