Job Title: Material Handler Utility Operator
Job Summary:
The Material Handler Utility Operator is responsible for safely unloading finished products from the production line and transporting materials throughout the facility using a forklift or Combi lift. This position plays a critical role in supporting production and shipping operations by ensuring finished goods are properly staged, organized, and prepared for shipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate a forklift and/or Combi lift in a safe and efficient manner.
- Remove finished products from the production line and transport them to designated storage or shipping areas.
- Organize and stage finished goods in the shipping yard for outbound deliveries.
- Load, unload, move, and stack materials as required.
- Inspect equipment daily and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate inventory locations and ensure materials are properly stored.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, production personnel, and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Qualifications:
- Previous forklift and/or Combi lift experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
- Exposure to excessive, intermittent, and constant noise levels.
- Plant temperatures may reach high levels, especially during warmer months.
- Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
- Employees must coordinate with area leadership to ensure they have the appropriate PPE for their assigned work area.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and plant environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
