Job Overview:

Schedule 6am to 4pm

Job Summary:  

Associates engaged in a variety of warehouse duties including, receiving of materials, pulling material for use and delivery to designated areas and use of computer system for inventory management.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Performs a variety of material handling and inventory control tasks, which include but are not limited to receiving of raw material deliveries, preparation of material for use in production, transport of materials and storage of materials in appropriate warehouse areas.
  • Accurately performs work assignments and computer transactions that are required to adjust inventory.
  • Accurately performs calculations using various units of measure
  • Performs visual inspection of all materials handled to ensure quality
  • Utilize manual and power material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner to move and arrange material.
  • Maintains workflow by ensuring that the proper materials are provided in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment;  notifying lead operators and/or supervisors of unsafe practices, conditions, or acts
  • Performs work according to SPARs, Work Instructions and verbal instructions; proactively seeks lead operator and/or supervisor for assistance in problem resolution
  • Effectively communicates with other associates, lead operators, supervisors while maintaining the self-confidence and self-esteem of others;  relays information to the next shift; voluntarily assists other associates, and communicates effectively to prevent problems from occurring
  • Receives and unpacks materials and supplies.
  • Checks receipts and bills of lading against purchase order for proper shipment, shortages, damages or defects.
  • Completes required verifications and paperwork/documentation, accurately and neatly

Job Specifications:

  • Requires minimum of high school education, with one year experience in a related area
  • Operators work per instructions (verbal and written) and consults with lead operator and/or supervisor as needed on matters not specifically covered by instructions;   work is cross-checked to review for accuracy, adequacy, and adherence to instructions
  • Conforms to Company policies and procedures, Quality Systems, etc.
  • Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g, handling of chemicals, uniforms, hairnets, gloves, safety glasses/goggles, shields, etc.
  • Physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities should be expected;  recurring lifting of moderately heavy items (objects over 50 pounds);  requires common physical characteristics and abilities, such as above-average agility and dexterity
  • Duties involve related steps, processes, and methods;  the decision regarding what needs to be done involves various choices requiring the operator to recognize the existence of and differences among recognizable situations;  actions to be taken differ with respect to the source of information, the kind of transactions to be made, and other differences of a factual nature
  • Primary contacts are with associates within Operations, Quality, and Research and Development however, some contact can also be expected with individuals or groups from outside the organization, in a moderately unstructured setting, such as vendors, truck drivers and carrier company representatives.
