About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established steel manufacturing company seeking a reliable and safety-focused Material Handler. This role is critical to daily operations, ensuring raw materials and finished steel products are moved efficiently throughout the facility.

This is a hands-on position ideal for someone experienced in handling heavy materials and operating industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Position Summary

The Material Handler will be responsible for moving, staging, and organizing steel materials using forklifts and other equipment. The ideal candidate has experience handling large, heavy items such as structural steel, plate, or tubing and understands the importance of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move, load, and unload steel materials safely and efficiently
• Transport raw materials and finished products throughout the facility
• Stage materials for production, fabrication, and shipping
• Assist with inventory control, material tracking, and organization of yard or warehouse
• Inspect materials for damage and report any discrepancies
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of heavy steel products
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Communicate with production, shipping, and supervisory teams to ensure workflow efficiency

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Material Handler in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Forklift experience required (experience handling heavy steel materials strongly preferred)
• Overhead crane operating experience preferred
• Ability to safely move and handle large, heavy materials
• Strong awareness of workplace safety practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Dependable with strong work ethic and attention to detail

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy materials regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in an industrial environment for extended periods
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
