As a Material Handler in the Shipping Department, you will be responsible for preparing materials for shipment and ensuring products are properly packaged, handled, and loaded for safe and on-time delivery. This position plays an important role in supporting daily shipping operations and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.
Essential Responsibilities
• Package and prepare materials for shipment according to shipping requirements.
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
• Verify materials, quantities, and shipping documentation before loading.
• Secure and protect materials to prevent damage during transportation.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Assist with staging materials and organizing the shipping area.
• Ensure skids and materials are properly identified, weighed, and positioned for shipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety and PPE requirements.
• Communicate with drivers and the Shipping/Logistics team to ensure shipments are loaded correctly.
• Perform other material-handling and shipping duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
• Capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing atmosphere.
• Ability to learn computer systems, databases and a variety of software programs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• Ability to walk, stand and be physically active for extended periods of time.
• Fluent in English and capable of communicating with co-workers.
Preferred Qualifications
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Previous experience in an Industrial or Warehouse setting

• Capable of maintaining an organized work area.
• Must be self-motivated and proactive.
• Willing to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends as needed.
Working Conditions
• Safety sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) (i.e., safety shoes, hard hats, bump caps, safety glasses, hearing protection at times, safety harnesses/ fall protection equipment as required).
• Must be able to work from all type of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders continuously and / or scissor lifts while performing overhead work.
• Working at heights usually no higher than 10 feet in the air on an elevated structure using proper lift equipment.
Physical Requirements
• Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs or step ladders
• Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction
• Continuous standing and walking
• Able to use upper extremities frequently, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently.
• Must be able to meet physical lifting demand up to 50lbs.
• Frequent use of hand tools and power tools
