Johnstone Supply, North America’s leading wholesale distributor of HVACR equipment, parts, and supplies has a great opportunity for a Material Handler III 1st shift to join our team at our Joliet distribution center.

We offer Regular Full-time status Material Handler III a starting wage of $22.00 per hour plus eligibility for quarterly incentive bonuses, and benefits that includes medical, dental, vision, life, LTD, 401(k) with up to 5% company match, 3 weeks of PTO within the first year, and a safety shoe allowance. We're proud to offer 1st Monday – Friday schedule. Some weekend overtime when we’re busy, but that’s an opportunity to earn more money!

Position responsibilities:

• Operates high-height power equipment (order picker and reach truck, capable of 25’ reach) in a safe and efficient manner to pick and process store orders on a daily basis.
•  Fills store orders by picking orders according to section number, packing items into cartons and stacking them in a manner that minimizes shipping damage, entering items into scan gun, and completing necessary paperwork.
•  Documents the shipment of hazardous materials by labeling cartons correctly and completing necessary paperwork. 
•  Prepares orders for shipment by preparing trucks for shipments; palletizing and wrapping orders; loading pallets and pieces into trucks; placing packing list in last skid; and completing necessary paperwork. 
• Maintains current department accuracy and efficiency standards and follows department standard operating procedures.
• Maintains a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following current Distribution safety rules, and maintaining a clean work area by breaking down cardboard, picking up loose trash or boards, and keeping carts clean.
• Completing any additional tasks or duties designated by the Distribution Center supervisor.
• Assists the Receiving Department with processing, stocking, and replenishing stock. 
• Participates in training new employees in Material Handler's duties by modeling duties and answering questions.

Position requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The employee is required to stand and walk on a concrete floor through a warehouse for the majority of the workday. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and lift up to 50 pounds. The individual is occasionally required to talk or hear; and lift up to 70 pounds. Special vision requirements are distance vision; peripheral vision, and color vision. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Warehouse Environment: Large warehouse with racks and bins, most work is performed using forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanner. Climate can be extremely hot or cold depending on the season.
