Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Material Handler II with additional responsibilities in wood crate building in our Fort Walton Beach, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently and safely handling materials within our plant, yard, or work site. In addition to traditional material handling duties, this position will involve wood craft building tasks, requiring a keen eye for precision and craftsmanship.
You will be responsible for:
Material Handling
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks, containers, or storage areas, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols
- Converting materials as needed, utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.
- Performing tasks under specific direction, including shipping and/or receiving responsibilities
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment with precision and care
Wood Craft Building:
- Engaging in wood craft building tasks, assembling and fabricating components to create finished products
- Working with various wood materials to construct structures, fixtures, or specialized components
- Collaborating with team members to ensure the timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Utilize computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and recording information related to material handling, metal cutting, and wood craft building activities
- Maintaining accurate records of materials, quantities, and production activities
Required Skills and Education
- High School Diploma or GED and 5 years' work experience or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in metal cutting, or wood craft building roles is advantageous.
- Ability to perform and understand required measurements and dimensions
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculation of percentages) to ensure understanding of planning
- Ability to manage conflict and participate in team activities
