As a Material Handler I, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our inventory control, stockroom management, kitting, expediting, and shipping and receiving processes. You will perform a variety of manual and administrative tasks, adhering to established procedures to maintain efficiency and accuracy. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will be vital in managing our materials and supporting our team’s success.

What You Will Do:

  • Inventory Management: Efficiently receive, verify, store, issue, and ship a wide range of items, ensuring accurate inventory control and minimizing discrepancies.
  • Material Handling: Utilize mechanical aids (excluding forklifts or high bay vehicles) to load, unload, store, and deliver various materials, adhering to safety and operational guidelines.
  • Lift Operation: Complete training to proficiently operate a single personal lift, enhancing material handling capabilities.
  • Packaging: Prepare and package both small and large parts with precision, following established procedures and using appropriate materials to ensure safe transit and storage.
  • Procurement: Process purchase orders for spare tooling and materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of necessary supplies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skillfully use computer hardware and software to manage inventory, process orders, and maintain accurate records.
  • Oversight and Maintenance: Supervise parts preparation, material handling, and the operation of measuring and packaging equipment. Record and monitor the calibration logs of tools and equipment to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform operator-level preventative maintenance tasks and promptly refer major issues to machine maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
  • Compliance: Oversee inventory and manage all government-owned tooling property in accordance with military regulations, ensuring full compliance and accountability.
  • Customer Coordination: Maintain regular contact with personnel from various customer and support areas to ensure the accuracy of materials and processes, fostering strong working relationships.
  • Measurement and Recording: Utilize a variety of measuring and weight recording devices to ensure precision and accuracy in all material handling tasks.
  • Workplace Organization: Keep equipment and surrounding areas neat and clean, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Additional Duties: Perform related duties as required within the scope of the job, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
