Material Handler I
Job Description
Location: Kansas City, MO
Summary:
Material Handlers work with both warehouses and production facilities to move products. Responsible for delivering production materials and supplies, staging finished products, and maintaining an open line of communication throughout the facility to ensure supply demands are met to increase productivity. The Material Handler will also ensure that all production needs are fully stocked and have the products they need to fulfill orders and move quickly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Management team to understand Daily Line Demand
- Validate contents of kits to various areas within the factory
- Ensure that proper procedures are followed when procuring “missing” parts for those various areas, find those parts that have been issued to a particular job and not in-station, or retrieve parts that must be reissued and deliver to the area of shortage
- Confer with production, sales, and warehouse, to expedite the needs of the production teams
- Collaborate and reconcile Missing Parts in Station occurrences
- Responsible for on-time kit delivery into every work area within the facility
- Assists in orchestrating material movement and storage locations for material handler
- Responsible for verifying production needs through the shop to ensure minimum downtime in production areas
- Ensure that kits/parts are delivered to the correct build station/trailer serial number
- Work directly with warehouse personnel to make whole any kits that are requested to the line with known parts shortages
- In the event of an in-process change, will be responsible for removal/replacement of parts to satisfy said change
- Record damages to materials during production, initiate proper disposition procedures and replace with proper materials as needed
- Review orders for completeness according to reporting procedures and forward incomplete orders for further processing
- Be aware of advanced production needs, be prepared to know what is needed for production at least three days in advance by area
- Track and record accuracy of critical parts tracker
- Communicate inaccuracies to leadership in a timely manner
- Availability to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings
- Other duties as assigned
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Understanding of warehouse software application packages and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Knowledge of warehousing and production fundamentals
- Ability to retrieve, analyze, and input data
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proven experience in coordinating and directing operations
- Possess High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Minimum 2 years forklift experience
- Previous Heavy equipment experience a plus

Working Conditions:
- Work is conducted inside and outside during all-weather types
- Tasks may involve moderate to heavy physical labor
- Walking, climbing, standing, sitting, and lifting are required
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to grip, pull and push heavy objects
- Ability to work with hands and perform routine lifting to 100lbs
- Stand for extended periods of time
