The primary responsibility of the Materials Handlers will be to perform all the movement of raw and finished materials between the receiving docks, the warehouse and the workstations or production lines. Tasks include receiving, putting away (on the shelves), picking, and delivering through several methods: Kanban, Kits, and Bulk. It also includes cycle-counting and additional supporting tasks.
Autocar produces sophisticated heavy-duty trucks with thousands of different components. They will function in work groups/teams, responsible for the correct and timely delivery of materials to the assembly lines.
Full proficiency and at least 3 years of experience in materials handling in a manufacturing environment, including receiving, put away, Kanban, kitting and other delivery methods.
High School Diploma or GED.Ability to Audit assigned warehouse locations and report back on any part/location discrepancies (i.e., parts in wrong location, mislabeled parts, missing labels, etc.)
Ability to Audit other Material Handlers’ kits to ensure accuracy and kit completeness.
Ability to train new material handlers on the job.
Perform 5S and ensure that everything that the Materials Handler uses to build kits has a correctly assigned place and everything in its place. Clean and organize area as needed in support of company efforts to keep warehouse clean and organized.
