PURPOSE
Operates forklift and material handling equipment in the distribution center and/or manufacturing area. Receives and moves all materials and products to staging or storage areas and arranges them for proper movement when needed. Performs work under the direction of the warehouse supervisor/manager or material handling manager.

COMPETENCIES
QUALIFICATIONS
A valid state-issued motor vehicle license is required. Minimum of one (1) year forklift and warehouse/manufacturing experience; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience. Forklift certification required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, but not required. Need to have good math, reading, and writing skills. A Career Readiness Certificate is also required
LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and work instructions.
MATH ABILITY
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Incumbent needs a basic understanding of computers and printers
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
No certifications needed. A valid State driver’s license is required for forklift certification at Anchor.

Works in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment in all types of weather. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works with warehouse equipment and/or some manufacturing equipment. An employee performing the duties of this job is required to use proper safety procedures to eliminate any potential hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Work requires moderate physical effort and the use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity. While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch. Employee must be able to physically lift, lower, and carry product weighing up to 55 lbs. Will regularly operate a forklift, requiring some coordinated movements.
Operating a forklift or other material handling equipment is considered a “Safety Sensitive” function. A Safety-Sensitive Function, as defined by the Company, requires the operation of motor vehicles, forklifts, or motorized warehouse equipment, or one that involves inspecting, servicing, conditioning, controlling, supervising, loading, or unloading such machinery. Employees performing “Safety-Sensitive Functions” are prohibited from reporting to work or being on duty while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
