About the Role:
We are seeking a Material Handler to join our team in Champaign, IL. In this role, the successful candidate will support daily warehouse operations by accurately picking, receiving, stocking, organizing, and moving materials throughout the warehouse. This position plays an important part in ensuring products are properly stored, orders are prepared accurately, and inventory is maintained using handheld barcode scanners. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and a proactive problem solver who communicates well with team members and helps provide excellent service to our customers. This role may also serve as a backup delivery driver on an occasional basis, typically 1–2 times per month.
The compensation range for this position is $21-23 per hour. Please note that the compensation range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license, CDL not required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted required.
- Valid DOT Medical Certification Card, or ability to obtain one upon hire (company will arrange the required DOT physical appointment).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a warehouse, driving, or customer service role.
- Ability to operate a Forklift certification or other warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations in warehouse environments.
- Ability to operate a 20-foot box truck.
Responsibilities:
Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Stage and receive incoming shipments, pick customer orders, and prepare materials for shipping based on customer requirements.
- Label, stock, and store products accurately to support organized and efficient warehouse operations.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, shelving, and designated warehouse storage areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory organization within the warehouse and assist with product placement at customer sites when needed.
- Follow company safety procedures and warehouse policies while completing all assigned tasks.
- Communicate with team members and customers to support accurate order fulfillment and a smooth warehouse workflow.
- Serve as the backup delivery driver as needed, typically 1–2 times per month.
