Material handling
Move completed product to the Shipping area. Move work in process to the next process or the appropriate storage area. Keep all machines supplied with material to process.
Load the appropriate aluminum furnace with the product to be annealed. Record all pertinent information on chart and place it on the corresponding recorder. Enter the correct program into the furnace controller to begin the annealing process. Upon completion of the annealing process, unload the furnace and place the annealed product in the cooling area. Load the furnace with a new load and begin a new cycle. Keep work areas clean and free of hazards.
In the absence of the Annealing Operator, load the appropriate base with product to be annealed and place retort onto base. Seal retort to base and begin nitrogen-purging process. Record all pertinent information on chart and place it on the corresponding recorder.
Upon completion of purge, place bell furnace over retort and begin annealing process. Enter required annealing time and temperature into controller to start annealing cycle. Upon completion of annealing cycle, remove bell furnace from retort and begin the cooling process. When sufficiently cool, remove retort from base. Remove annealed product from base and place on pallets. Keep work areas clean and free of hazards.
Visually inspect all products for stains and discoloration.
Observe all safety rules and use safe work practices in all activities.
Follow any other job-related instructions and perform any other job-related duties requested by management.
Shipping:
Unload raw material and supplies from commercial trucks using forklift. Perform visual inspections for damage and other obvious defects and notify Quality Assurance if any are found. Store items in the proper location. Sign and date packing list and enter shipment into receiving log.
Package all finished product for shipment according to the specific order requirements and the Shipping & Receiving work instruction. Complete a shipping tally sheet for each order and record the total weight shipped, date, and initials on the traveler. Picking sales orders to meet customer requirements. Use the updated pallet weights for specific pallet. Stage orders in shipping staging area. Pallets that require finish good labels must be received in QCHub
Load finished product on the appropriate truck. Secure all loads against shifting in transit. Ensure that all required documentation accompanies shipment.
Visually inspect all finished product for operator initials indicating conformance to order requirements, damage, stains, discoloration, and/or other visible defects. Review travelers to verify that all required inspections have been carried out and documented.

Training and knowledge transfer
Provide hands-on training and guidance to new employees joining the department. Share job knowledge, demonstrate safe and proper machine operation, and support their understanding of standard procedures to ensure a successful new hire full qualification.
