Job Overview:
Job Title: Shipping Material Handler
Job Summary:
The Shipping Material Handler is responsible for preparing, organizing, and moving materials and products for shipment. This role ensures orders are picked accurately, packaged properly, and loaded efficiently while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to company procedures
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and pallets
- Move materials throughout the warehouse using pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment
- Verify product quantities and inspect items for damage before shipping
- Label packages and complete shipping documentation accurately
- Maintain organization of shipping and staging areas
- Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment when needed
- Follow safety policies and proper handling procedures at all times
- Communicate with shipping supervisors and warehouse staff to ensure timely order fulfillment
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Previous warehouse or shipping experience preferred but not required
- Basic math and counting skills for order verification
- Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred or willing to obtain)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1-year related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
Hours are 2:00pm - 10:30pm, 2nd shift premium available
