Classification: Non-Exempt (overtime eligible)

Reports To: Operations Manager                         

Position Type: Full-Time               Shift: 1st              Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm with overtime as needed

Starting Pay: $18/hour (overtime after 40 hours)

SUMMARY

The Material Handler is responsible for sorting and taking apart various electronics, while focusing on efficiency, to ensure a consistent flow of product is generated to meet daily production goals.

Essential Functions (Other duties may be assigned and management retains the discretion to add, delete, or change the duties at any time)

  • Use electric and hand tools to take apart various electronics.
  • Remove focus materials from various electronics and place them in designated containers.
  • Maintain pace to meet daily production goals.
  • Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal work instruction and safety standards, including all federal, state and local laws, regulations, and company driving policies.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions and ensure vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
  • Secure cargo for transport using appropriate methods.
  • Weigh-in material and place it in its designated area.
  • Perform daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and reports any safety issues immediately.
  • Maintain company equipment inside/out in order to ensure both cleanliness and safety.
  • May need to properly handle and process batteries when needed.
  • Remain aware of details which cause specific boards to meet certain criteria for grading when sorting circuit boards.
  • Must be able to interact in person with coworkers and the public.
  • Must be able to handle high stress situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months forklift experience preferred and/or must be able to be licensed to operate a forklift

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Stands and/or walks for the duration of the shift; on floor or raised platforms
  • Constant repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions with assistance
  • Specific vision requirements include color, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Routinely performs repetitive movements such as bending, twisting, reaching and lifting
  • May be required to lift, carry and position material weighing up to 50lbs with assistance

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
