Material Handler

Shift/Hours:Monday - Friday, 8AM to 5PM

Pay Rate:$18-$20/hr

Location:Rosenberg, TX

Experience:6+ months recent working experience

Job Summary

This role involves operating a sit-down forklift to move, load, and organize heavy building materials (like pavers and concrete blocks). You will work largely in an outdoor yard environment, ensuring that production lines stay supplied and that customers are loaded efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading & Unloading:Safely position forks under loaded pallets, skids, or boxes. Load outgoing trucks for delivery and unload incoming raw materials.

• Inventory Management:Transport finished goods from the production floor to designated yard storage areas. Maintain accurate counts and organize inventory to ensure "first-in, first-out" flow.

• Customer Service:Assist with loading customer vehicles and commercial trucks, ensuring orders are accurate and securely positioned.

• Maintenance:Perform daily "pre-trip" inspections of the forklift (checking fluids, tires, and hydraulics). Responsible for refueling/recharging and basic cleaning of the equipment.

• Production Support:Monitor the work floor and supply machine operators with raw materials as needed to prevent downtime.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience:Minimum of2 yearsof experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing, warehouse, or retail distribution environment is typically required.

• Certification:Must be able to pass an internalforklift certification program.

• Physical Demands:* Ability to lift up to50 lbsregularly.

  • Standing and sitting for long periods in a non-climate-controlled environment (exposed to TX heat and dust).

• Skills:Ability to read job specifications, basic math skills for inventory counts, and strong communication skills
