MATERIAL HANDLER

The Material Handler moves materials, parts and skids throughout the plant with the use of a powered industrial fork truck.  This position may also include loading and unloading materials onto or off of trucks. This position also includes managing the collection and management of scrap bins and materials coming and going from the facility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES 

• Utilize a forklift to load, unload, and move materials, parts and skids within the plant, performing any combination of the following duties: Read work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials, parts or skids that need to be moved. 

• Load and unload materials from trucks as needed.

• Manage the incoming and outgoing scrap program. 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• With a quality work ethic, functions as a member of a customer-driven quality team whose goal is to ensure that product quality requirements established by the customer have been achieved.

• Holds oneself accountable for doing whatever is needed to meet the commitments made around project outcomes.

• Maintains adequate levels of performance and motivation despite job tasks that are routine or repetitive.

• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directives.

• Knowledge in operation of a forklift and other material handling equipment.

• Thorough knowledge of safety procedures.

• High School Diploma or GED

• Minimum of 5 years of experience

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $19.00 - $25.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
