We have an immediate opening for a Material Handler. This position is responsible for maintaining proper workflow of stock and inventory within the department. Responsibilities include ensuring all parts needed for work orders are available for assembly. Pull, verify, and organize components for production orders. 

 

We are seeking candidates who have the flexibility to cross-train in areas within the department, who have the ability to stand for a 10-hour shift, lift up to 50lbs, read and comprehend written materials in English, and a willingness to work cooperatively with team members and supervisors to achieve common goals.

This is a non-exempt, full-time, benefitted position. The starting pay is $17 per hour. This is a full-time position, on-site at the manufacturing facility. The standard hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, 40 hours per week. An occasional shift in hours may be necessary to accommodate the needs of the business. Summary of the Position

This position is responsible for maintaining proper workflow of stock and inventory within the department. Ensure all parts needed for work orders are available for the assembly line.

 

Essential Functions

  • Read and comprehend written instruction and follow established procedures to accurately organize and group components to streamline production 
  • Receive and review incoming work orders specified on the bill of materials
  • Pull, verify, and organize components for production orders
  • Properly label organized components 
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Performs duties within quality and safety guidelines. 
  • Performs other duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.

 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to read & write in English for effective communication and production documentation 
  • Basic math skills
  • Flexibility to cross-train in other areas within the department
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Thoroughness in completing tasks, ensuring accuracy and precision while timely completing work. 
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and instructions from supervisors. 
  • Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors to build positive relationships and achieve common goals.
  • Proper use and maintenance of safety gear and equipment, and adherence to safety policies. 

 

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel

This job operates in a manufacturing environment with some exposure to temperature fluctuations and low to moderate noise. Must have the ability to stand and walk for a 10-hour shift; Must be able to climb and descend ladders; some bending, stooping, and kneeling may be required; lifting up to 50lbs; visual acuity to perform operative functions and read detailed instructions; mobility to move between workstations and transport components, as well as traverse a large manufacturing facility; ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; and the ability to observe details at close range.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work overtime as required by the company
