 Job Summary

Under the direction of the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, the Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Associate is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and quality of procedures for incoming/outgoing shipments and inventory control. Responsible for unloading and loading delivery trucks and checking incoming shipments against supplier pack lists.  This role is also responsible for organizing and managing in house inventory and the accuracy of this inventory.  They are also responsible to identify and escalate inventory discrepancies.

 

Add: light admin duties, scheduling, assist organizing resources, able to train others. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Communicate with freight forwarders, brokers, dispatch via phone and email arranging shipments.
  2. Schedule full or partial truck loads, container loads and LTL shipments.
  3. Create and maintain all shipping documents associated with shipments.
  4. Maintain inventory data base, inquiries and transact in ERP system.
  5. Measure, cut and fabricate wooden crate for shipments utilizing a tape measure, hand tools, and power tools.
  6. Pick, pack, crate & process orders utilizing 2nd & 3rd party logistics programs; UPS World Ship, DHL, FedEx, etc.
  7. Must be able to become forklift certified and be confident in using material handling equipment.
  8. Pick and stage product needed for production ensuring that it is accurately picked and delivered.
  9. Process physical and systematic receipts of incoming material.
  10. Inspect incoming chemicals to ensure they follow MSDS procedures. Label accordingly.
  11. Cycle Count inventory per identified cadence to ensure inventory accuracy. 
  12. Investigate inventory discrepancies and escalate sizable adjustments.
  13. Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). or one to three months related experience and/or training. or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills

Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

Work Schedule/Hours

1st Shift: 4:30am – 2:00pm, M-F

2nd Shift: 2:00pm – 2:00am, M-Th

Travel

No overnight travel required.
