As a Material Handler at Husqvarna Construction in Olathe, KS, you are responsible for the receipt and storage of products, including loading and unloading shipments, packing goods, and completing the appropriate paperwork for inventory control and documentation purposes. May be assigned to one or more basic areas of responsibility, assisting in other areas such as Central Stores as needed. Your success in this role is critical for ensuring correct quantity of products are being received and inventory levels are accurate to keep production operating.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Receiving Support
- By use of stand-up forklift move product from dock to central storage location and note location and correct count on receiver.
- From vendor shipments, maintain stock of products ready for resale or manufacturing.
- Unload deliveries of products by use of stand-up lift and verify packing lists before stocking.
- Complete and check packing slips, bills of lading, and other appropriate paperwork for inventory and record keeping purposes.
- Pull product from central store locations and move to manufacturing cells according to inventory transfer forms using stand up lift.
- Ensure form is completed correctly and note any inventory discrepancies.
- Cycle count, by physical count, inventory parts in central location and manufacturing sideline.
- Report discrepancies to Inventory Services.
Quality/Safety
- Manage overall appearance of inventory by ensuring inventory is visually easy to see/read, count is accurate, and material is safely stored.
- Utilize proper pallets and cartons for product being put away in adherence with work instructions to ensure a safe work environment.
- Clean and maintain work area on a daily basis.
- Safely operate stand-up lift.
- Perform startup safety checks of all equipment at the start of every shift. Notify supervisor of needed repairs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- At least 1-2 years' previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Stand-up and sit-down forklift experience
- Ability to lift, push/pull, and stand for long periods of time
