We are looking for a talented individual to join our dynamic Keystone Manufacturing team located in Kalamazoo, MI. A Material Handler is a motivated self-starter who will assist and ultimately lead the material flow to ensure material and inventory needs are managed.
A successful Material Handler must be capable of working with minimal supervision, have a “can do” attitude, possess creative problem-solving skills and be willing to do “whatever it takes” to complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively. This team member should have excellent interpersonal skills, great attention to detail and be highly organized with the ability to multitask with minimum interruption to work progress.
Responsibilities and Activities
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products
- Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas
- Identify and label materials, and record their locations in the warehouse/on the shelves to maintain inventory
- Prepare finished products for shipment by identifying their location, then pulling, packing, and loading them
- Operate forklifts and other equipment to move freight
- Manage inventory by identifying, documenting and recording the location of inventory.
- Perform and report inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Analyze build assemblies and pull the appropriate materials for each order
- Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of experience working in a warehouse setting or in logistics; experience in operating material handling equipment preferred
- Must be able to work well in a team
- Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software
- Must be able to read and write, and perform basic math, follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance
- Frequently pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 40 pounds may be required
- Standing, walking, bending and stooping at the waist/knees are required at various times
Schedule
Monday through Friday, sometimes requiring extended work hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays to ensure minimal interruption to production. The work environment for this position will be manufacturing work cells and cleanroom environments.
